What is Keratosis Pilaris?
Keratosis pilaris is the formation of bumps that feel rough on the skin due to clogged pores. Many people refer to Keratosis Pilaris as chicken skin. Because of the rough texture that occurs on areas such as the arms and cheeks, these are called “follicular keratotic papules.” They can affect any surface of the skin that grows hair.
How to treat Keratosis Pilaris (Treatment of Keratosis Pilaris)
1. Gently scrub the skin with salt.
The goal is to gently exfoliate the skin to remove dead skin and clear out pores without irritating the skin and aggravating the problem. Use a gentle, natural exfoliant such as salt, which has anti-inflammatory properties, to soothe the skin. Removes dead skin cells. and helps maintain moisture levels in the skin
Make your own scrub at home by mixing 2 spoons of sea salt with 4 spoons of raw honey. Raw honey has moisturizing properties and is a natural source of nutrients and acids that are good for the skin. Apply the mixture to problem areas, gently rub into the skin, then leave for 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
2. Use a dry brush.
Dry brushing helps unclog pores and remove dead skin cells. Take the bristle brush and move it around a few times, brushing each part of the body. Make sure to do this before getting the skin wet. Do this gently. So that your skin does not become irritated and inflamed.
When you are finished dry brushing your teeth. Stop and pat the skin dry. Apply natural oil such as coconut oil. onto the affected area and other parts of the body.
3 Use a humidifier
Keratosis Pilaris symptoms are worse during the winter. This is the period when the skin is drier than normal. Using a humidifier in the bedroom can help reduce skin roughness and redness. Lack of moisture makes the skin dry. Therefore, increasing the humidity in the air inside your home, especially at night, may help relieve symptoms.
