to prepare it you need

Rava/Semolina – 2 cups
Curd – 1 cup
Curry leaves – 5 to 7
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Chana dal – 2 spoons
Urad Dal – 2 spoons
Green chili – 2 finely chopped
Carrot – 1 (grated)
coriander leaves (finely chopped)
Ghee – 4 spoons
Eno/fruit salt – 1 tsp
salt (as per taste)

How to prepare Rava Idli

First of all, put a pan on medium flame and dry roast the semolina and take it out.

When the rava cools down a bit, add curd as required and whisk well. If needed, water can be added to increase or decrease the consistency.

After that add salt and eno or fruit salt as per taste and whisk it for 4 to 5 minutes.

Then cover it and leave it to ferment for 30 minutes.

Here, heat a pan on medium flame, put ghee, mustard seeds, curry leaves, gram dal, urad dal in it. Now let the mustard seeds splutter and roast them all together till the dal turns golden in colour.

Then add grated carrot, chopped green chillies and green coriander leaves and roast them all together for a minute.

Now pour the prepared mixture into the idli batter and mix well. Keep the consistency of the batter slightly thick.

After this, grease the idli steamer plates with ghee and with the help of a spoon pour the batter as required.

Steam the idlis in a steamer for about 10 to 15 minutes.

To check, you can poke the idli with a knife. When it is fully cooked, take it out with the help of a spoon.
